The mesh used in the mesh safety cover has a shade rating of 90%. Shade rating is the percentage of sunlight prevented from entering the pool. The material used in this safety cover weighs 4.5 oz. per yd2. The mesh material is secured with high strength straps, stitched for the highest performance, and includes a high-grade Rub strip to prevent wear and tear. This cover has the highest abrasion resistance and tear strength in its class. The Pool Mate Mesh Safety Cover allows water to pass through easily for the best drainage. Stainless steel springs and brass hardware for concrete decks are included. This cover includes two feet of overlap. Overlap is the material that measures beyond the pool size.
